GENERAL
I used a free CMS (Content Management System) joomla 1.5 to buil this interactive website www.christianityrenewed.com.
I am an absolute amateur, no programming knowledge just spending a few hours a
week to use modules to built up this website.
As modules I am using
DOCMAN:
FIREBOARD for forum: Fireboard has one grat weakness. As you can see it uses black letters in black dialog boxes. Therefore thet becomes practically invisible.
SECURITY
This website woould have been impossible to built without the encouragement from
a professional friend who first helped me to overcome my lack of confidence.
He helped me to find a cheap webhost who gives much for little money "Bluehost",
gave me a free template then edged me along when I was building my website.
Seeing how fruitful such a cooperation between a technical savy person and an
enthusiastic amateur (buddy system) I would like to suggest to start a "Baha'i Joomla support group" where people as myself join with a few experts to built professional looking Baha'i website about a number of Baha'i isues.
For example it xwould be very easy to construct using my template an interactive websites to built websites as hinduismrenewed, buddhismrenewed etc
Interactive Baha'i websites could be built about Life after death isues etc etc
using free software.
Being a layman I never realised what an untapped goldmine of free software is out there
Joomla 1.5 with Docman, Letterman and forum and community building program
By helping each other and encouraging each other we can have a great impact.
I am sure that there are lots of Baha'is around who like me were born before computers existed
but who are eager to serve the Faith . There days of active serving as travellteachers etc are finished
due to their physical decline. They have plenty of free time but lack the confidence to create interactive websites
about their personal interests.
